A Cozy Mendocino Getaway

I was so happy to get the chance to spend a few days in Mendocino exploring the coastal bluffs and vast redwoods, my campsite at Mendocino Grove, enjoying fires and 'smores at night, and wandering the cute seaside towns. I've rounded up some reccies below and will have this post saved under "travel" if you decide to also take a trip up to Mendo (really rec going in the early fall, it was perfect) and want a similar getaway experience!

Stay: I stayed at Mendocino Grove (hosted), although there were so many cute inns and cottages all along the coast and in town that I'm sure would be super charming as well if you're not into camping/glamping!

Eat/drink: The first night I got there I picked up a sandwich at the Mendocino Market deli before checking into my campsite. This meal might have been my fave of the trip not only because it tasted like perfection (Friends reference for anyone out there who also knows each episode by heart), but also because eating it at the campsite with the fire going and table all set up just felt so charming. After breakfast the next day at the campsite (provided by Mendocino Grove for all guests) but before adventures, I got a coffee from The Waiting Room which was a darling cafe with an indoor fireplace, patio, and garden. Later that day I grabbed a late lunch at Mendocino Cafe (a great fresh veg burrito) and saved half for dinner paired with some wine and fresh fruit from Harvest Market to enjoy by the campsite fire once again. There were loads of nice restaurants as well, but I really wanted to take advantage of the firepit where I was staying and eat at the campgrounds.

Hike/walk: I didn't get to all the hikes and walks I wanted to, but sharing a few that I did and a few that I didn't as well:

Shop: Because it's a small town and shops aren't open everyday/all hours, I didn't get into all the stores I had on my list, but I did make it into a few! I'll drop the list of shops I made it into and didnt below, just note their hours if you're planning a trip so you don't miss it!

If you're driving and taking HWY 1 (either there or back) pit stop at Cafe Aquatica in Jenner, CA for absolute dreamy cafe vibes and amazing avo toast.

Thats it for now!

Until next time,

xx
